Sebastian was announced this week as the winner in his grade category (7-9) for the freshwater species! The Fish Art Contest is held every year by Wildlife Forever and their partners. Each state announces its winners, which then get entered into the national competition. This 2026 award is particularly special because it marks the third year in a row that Sebastian has won the contest.
This year Sebastian entered a majestic Florida Bass, accompanied by 3 vigilant bluegill. As with his other works and previous entries, he used pen, markers and chalk pastels on bristol paper. He also maintained his signature style of having the art coming out of the frame, which gives a unique effect of dimensionality to his work.
Sebastian has been able to consistently improve his skills and abilities thanks to the continued demand for his work by fishing enthusiasts and art collectors. Their support has kept Sebastian motivated and inspired to keep creating and improving, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of his journey, whether through buying his art or simply offering kind words of support.
In 2025, winning the Fish Art Contest lead to amazing opportunities, such as; getting his art printed on the Florida state fishing license, attending ICAST and getting the opportunity to sign autographs of his artwork alongside Dr. Guy Harvey, and much more! We look forward to what 2026 will bring for young Sebastian.
