Sandhill Cranes Original Drawing

This drawing was the 2nd place winner in the 2023 NRA Youth Wildlife Competition.

Drawn with ink and Copic markers on thick bristol paper.  This composition of Sandhill cranes beautifully illustrates the various behaviors of these majestic and playful birds.  The bird on the top left is seen gracefully flying doing his unmistakable call.  The bird in the middle is a close-up portrait to highlight the beautiful details in their whimsical face, and the bird on the right is performing his elaborate, and often comical mating dance.
